William "Bill" C. Jenne

SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - William “Bill” Clayton Jenne of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away on February 9th at the age of 73 at Saybrook Landing Nursing Home after a long illness.

Bill was born in Lyndhurst, Ohio to the late Paul and Doris Jenne. The family moved to Ashtabula, and Bill was a 1970 graduate of Ashtabula High School.

Bill showed an unwavering work ethic at numerous factories. He approached every task with pride believing that every job was worth doing well and made many lasting friendships throughout the years.

Bill was a storyteller at heart and found great joy in sharing well-worn, often embellished, humorous stories motivated by the smiles and laughs they’d bring. Also lecturing and teasing were signs of affection. Stubborn and passionate in his values, he was a devoted Cleveland Browns and Guardians fan. What he cherished most was time with each of his four grandchildren who filled him with joy and pride, and above everything else, he loved being their “Pa-Pa”.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marianne (Matticola), his wonderful children, Mandy (Ken) Paulchel and Billy (Mindy Wojcik) Jenne, his brother, Paul (Linda) Jenne, and his grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Vincent and Dominic. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Knoppe.

Family and friends are invited to gather to remember Bill from 2:00-4:00 on Saturday February 21, 2026, at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio followed by a brief prayer service at 4:00.

The family would like to thank the staff at Saybrook Landing for showing Bill care, compassion and love, and Bella Care for their support and comfort.
